This client had too many clothes for the space. We took everything out of the closet, worked together to purge and she donated a total of 5 bags! I was able to put back all remaining clothes. Only purchase was 2 shoe racks and 1 over the door hanging organizer (under $30 total for supplies). I love how this transformation actually makes the closet look bigger!

Problem:

  1. Overcrowded closet due to excessive clothing
  2. Limited storage options leading to inefficient use of available space
  3. Difficulty in locating specific clothing items amidst the clutter

Solution:

I decided the best plan of attack was to empty the closet and have my client go through a purge. Adding a couple of organizing pieces extended the space to accommodate everything that was left after the purge.

Results:

  1. Enhanced Functionality: The client experienced a significant improvement in the functionality of her closet. With the reduced clothing collection and strategic organization, she could easily locate and access her wardrobe items.
  2. Optimized Space Utilization: The introduction of cost-effective storage solutions maximized the available closet space. The addition of shoe racks and the over-the-door hanging organizer provided designated storage areas, reducing clutter and creating a more streamlined and organized closet.
  3. Visual Illusion of Increased Space: The decluttering and strategic organization techniques, coupled with the efficient storage solutions, created an illusion of a larger closet. The reduced visual clutter made the space feel more open and spacious.

"Organizing for me seemed so overwhelming, but Heidi was very helpful, non-judgmental and said the right things to keep me motivated to continue. My closet still looks good and I am proud that I continue to keep it organized."
